What an awesome week we’ve had in Hedgehogs!
On Tuesday, we took part in our Humanities Day, which was themed around the countries hosting the FIFA World Cup. Throughout the day, each teacher moved between classrooms to deliver a different lesson, giving the children a fantastic variety of experiences.
- Miss Hatt taught us about the National Parks of the USA, and we designed our very own national parks.
- Mrs Blackmore introduced us to American culture, sharing a selection of traditional hats before we designed our own hats, caps and helmets.
- Miss Benfield explored Canadian culture and North American heritage. We learned about the meaning and importance of totem poles before creating our own.
- Mr Catling taught us about the Mexican celebration of the Day of the Dead, helping us understand how it is a joyful celebration of loved ones. We then designed colourful masks that could be worn during the festivities.
On Friday, we had a fantastic time taking part in the FOSHS Obstacle Course. It was wonderful to get outside, enjoy the sunshine and raise money for the school while having lots of fun!
Alongside all of this excitement, we have been working incredibly hard in class. The children have completed lots of writing this week, and our Year 2s have done an amazing job finishing their end-of-year assessments. We are so proud of how hard everyone has worked.
Have a wonderful weekend!
