It has been lovely to welcome everyone back from half term and to settle straight into learning. This week we have started our new class book, Friend or Foe by Michael Morpurgo, and so far, David and Tucky are on the train being evacuated out of London. In Maths, we have moved on to multiplication while in English, we are going to use some of our learning from History to write an explanation text: Why did World War II begin? Now that swimming has ended, we have started our Mandarin lessons and also Music. This week in Music we listened to songs from World War I and World War II and compared their moods. We used musical vocabulary in Italian to do so, such as adagio, allegro and amoroso. In RE we have started our new topic, looking at the why it is significant that Mary was Jesus’ mother. We will begin our new Science topic on Monday but in the meantime, the investigation we left out over half term is producing some encouraging results and we can see the salt crystals forming.
