Throughout the week, life in Ancient Greece has been at the heart of our learning. In English, the children worked hard to complete their balanced arguments, debating whether life was better in Sparta or Athens. Their discussions were thoughtful and persuasive, showing a real understanding of both sides.

On Wednesday, we enjoyed a wonderful visit to Ashmolean Museum. We began with a self-guided tour, spotting fascinating links to Ancient Greece — from the architectural design of the building itself to the impressive collection of artefacts on display. Our adults were so proud of the children’s engagement, curiosity and enthusiasm throughout the day.

In the afternoon, our brilliant leader Kate guided us through the galleries with scavenger hunts, bingo, and the incredible opportunity to handle artefacts over 2,500 years old! We finished with a lively game of charades that helped to deepen and embed our learning in such a fun and memorable way.
