Owl Class News 10.11.23

Our week started with the discovery of a classroom in upheaval on Monday morning. The children interviewed a number of key people in the school to find out when the event might have happened. We used these interviews to revise punctuating direct speech, and then converting our direct speech into indirect speech. This was then followed by a lesson on writing good newspaper headlines which started with analysing some headlines from Saturday’s newspaper. In Maths, we have been finding multiples and factors of numbers, and common multiples and factors shared by two or more numbers. On Monday, three of the class represented the school at the EPA Boccia tournament, where they won four and lost two matches, coming joint first. Thursday was a highlight for some of our Year 6 children who went to their first Transition Day to Bartholomew School where they had a thoroughly good time, including a tour of the school and visit to the library. Those of us still in school also had a good time, which included some ‘buddy reading’ with Year 2. It has been another week of hard work and happy learning. We hope you all have a lovely weekend.
