This week has been all about final preparations for the play. We have completed our programmes, finished the props and had three rehearsals at the Village Hall, two of them wearing our alien headgear. It is all beginning to come together beautifully. On Monday, we enjoyed our final Buddy Reading session of the year, with Hedgehog Class. On Tuesday, Heather led us in a Godly Play session on Abraham and Sarah and the class was able to calmly engage and thoughtfully respond to the story, using a range of creative materials. Wednesday afternoon saw the winning team treat (Yellow) followed by Year 6 having their portraits painted by children in Hedgehog Class. Moving Up morning on Thursday went well, and while Year 5 enjoyed the time as soon-to-be-Year-6s, the current Year 6s spent time working on the Leavers’ Service. Meanwhile, our curriculum learning in Science and History has continued as we have evaluated Cassius Dio’s account of Boudica’s rebellion – do we think it is a reliable source and why/ why not? It has been lovely to have three work experience students in class over the week, all former pupils at Stanton Harcourt. I hope that everyone is able to enjoy the weekend and sleep well despite the heat. On Monday it is our dress rehearsal to the school. Thank you very much to those parents who have offered to help us put up the stage at 8:15 on Monday morning. I look forward to seeing you then.
