Owl Class News 13.05.22

Well, everyone has survived the week of SATs! What a fantastic group of Year 6 children we have – all turning up smiling and raring to go each day, and all putting in every single ounce of effort and focus during the tests themselves. Well done to each one of them. We have really enjoyed breakfast together over the four days, including a lovely session of playing indoor games on the morning it was too wet to go outside. And on the final day, we enjoyed the lovely cake that Anne had made. So, enough mention of these for the year … onwards and upwards!

We have launched our play – a musical version of ‘A Midsummer Night’s Dream’, building on the fantastic work the children did relating to the play before Easter. Auditions are on Tuesday …

Other highlights of the week have included starting our Geography topic (brushing up on our OS map skills in lesson 1) and starting a series of lessons on art in maths. I would like to mention also the new homework approach this term. I have been delighted and very impressed with the range and quality of work that is being returned and I have created a ‘Homework Hall of Fame’ in the classroom to which a few particularly outstanding pieces of work will be added each week.

Enjoy the weekend!
