The children in Owl Class have been so settled and working so hard, it is hard to believe it is only week 2 of the new school year. They are also proving to be excellent role models to the younger children on the playground, particularly when lining up for learning. This week has seen the start of our Science topic for the term – Properties of Materials. We carried out an investigation into the hardness of a range of materials and considered whether or not our results were trustworthy. In Maths we have been focussing on place value and powers of ten, while in English we have been completing our Spitfire poems. Swimming was a great success this week. It is amazing how much progress has been achieved already after just two lessons. Many of the children have got going straight away with their homework tasks and some have found out some fascinating family stories abut World War II.
