Owl Class News 15.11.24

It has been so lovely that the sun has come out this week and the grounds have been looking beautiful as the children make full use of them at break and lunchtime. The class continues to work hard. They have made real progress with written methods for multiplication and now we have begun written methods for division: Year 6 are increasingly confident with long division while Year 5 are getting to grips with using short division to divide by a one-digit number. In Music this week we were learning to sing ‘The White Cliffs of Dover’, linked to our History topic. We continue to enjoy History, this week moving on the Blitz. DT is seeing us develop our fine motor skills as we create a waistcoat for a teddy bear and we have started our PE module of fitness. We had a super science lesson on Monday when we recapped the life cycle of a plant before dissecting a flower to identify its reproductive parts. I hope you all have a good weekend.
