Owl Class News 17.03.23

It has been a very rich week in Year 6, combining fantastic focus through a series of assessments with lovely varied opportunities when not taking papers! We had our ‘hook’ lesson, introducing our new class text, Greenling, when we found an extraordinary green baby at the back of class. We enjoyed a brilliant session with a seismic volcanologist, looking at how buildings can be designed to make them more earthquake-resistant. We have also had a great time carrying out our Big Science Experiments which have investigated a whole range of questions relating to the impact of exercise on heart rate; which toy cars travel faster; which cleaning agents work best on stains; how our sight and smell affect our taste; not to mention exploding water melons! The children showed great team work and really epitomised our vision of Living, Learning and Growing Together.
