We have had a lovely and varied week in Year 6. In maths, we are continuing to learn how to calculate with fractions and we have now moved on to dividing by integers. In English, we are preparing our instructions for ‘How to turn yourself into a comet’ and we are getting through our class book, ‘Cosmic’. In Geography, we have been learning about significant mountain ranges and mountains across the world and we are creating lovely maps to show their locations. The two stand out events this week have been helping to create our new school mosaic (and three children from Owl class were part of the team which came up with the design); and a visit from an imam to talk to us about the Muslim faith. It was notable what good questions the children in Year 6 had for our visitor, based on what they have already learned about Islam in RE.
