Owl Class News 20.09.24

This week in Maths, we have continued our learning about place value, ordering, comparing and rounding numbers. In English, we have begun to look at the book Rose Blanche and have been developing our inference skills as we thought about what we learned about Rose from the evidence in the text; we enjoyed adding our thoughts to our person outline on the wall. Science on Monday was very successful, with the children using a light meter on the iPads to measure the transparency of a range of materials. Some materials which we had originally thought were opaque turned out on further investigation to be transluscent, letting through a few lux of light. I have been impressed with the standard of homework tasks that are coming in and I am particularly enjoying the models of air raid shelters and also the information about people’s family history and involvement in the war. Thank you for your support of the children through their home learning.
