It has been a wonderful few final days of term in Owl Class. On Friday, we performed our song, ‘Ghost Parade’, in Collective Worship and then on Monday we went to St Michael’s church for our Christingle service. The children read and sang beautifully and Year 6 were very dignified as they lit and processed with the Christingles. The children have completed two significant pieces of writing in these last few days – an assessment of whether Alexander the Great deserved his title of ‘Great” and a piece of humourous writing about a character in our class book. Over the last two days of term, we have been making Christmas scenes in shoe boxes and it has been lovely to see the children taking great care with their work and making decisions about what they want to include in their scene. I hope you will enjoy displaying the scenes as part of your Christmas decorations at home. We also had time for the children to enjoy playing a range of games together, from chess to board games and card games. Everyone had a happy time.
This been an excellent term for Years 5 aned 6 and the children have thrived – working hard, making progress, being excellent role models in the school, and forming a kind and caring community. It has been a pleasure for us all to have worked with them. Thank you for the many kind cards and gifts that have been brought in. We wish you and your families a very happy and restful Christmas and we look forward to seeing the children back in January.
