Owl Class News 21.03.25

It has been so lovely that the sun has come out. We have thoroughly (one of our spelling words this week …) enjoyed playing on the field and having a go at lacrosse on the field too, only to find that scooping up a ball is a different experience on the grass. Having come to the end of our assessments, we have moved on to learning about Measure and converting units in Maths, and have begun to think about how to write a persuasive speech in English. We listened to speeches by Malala Yousafzai and Martin Luther King Jr and identified their use of emotive language, repetition, exaggeration and hyperbole, a personal approach and direct address. We felt inspired by their speeches and could see how these features helped achieve that effect. In Science, we have been learning about the sober facts of global warming and climate change, and have been finding out about carbon footprints and how we can reduce them. Attendance has been particularly good in Owl Class this week – well done everyone. Have a lovely weekend.
