Owl Class News 21.04.23

The children in Year 6 have come back from the Easter break raring to go and have shown a fantastic attitude through the whole week. We are working hard at polishing our skills ready for SATs but also this week started our new topic of ‘The Romans’, looking at the founding myth of Rome (Romulus and Remus) and finding out about mosaics as part of our Art topic. In Maths, we have been learning about function machines and how to write algebraic expressions. On Wednesday, many of the children went to Bartholomew School for a transition day. The remaining children were in school and wrote some very effective Haikus. In the afternoon, they accompanied EYFS on a visit to the Manor, where they had a lovely time. We look forward to next week when we have our visiting Roman workshop and we will begin our next Science topic: Evolution and Inheritance.
