Owl Class News 23.09.22

The third week of term has rushed by, especially with the Monday bank holiday. We have been enjoying thinking about how we build suspense in narrative writing and are continuing to learn about the properties of materials in Science, developing our scientific skills as we evaluated an experiment. One of the highlights in class at the moment is hearing from children who have been finding out about what members of their families did during World War II. So far we have had a crewman from a Lancaster bomber who did not survive the expedition to Dresden; a British spy working in the Middle East; a naval officer serving in both the west and the Pacific; someone in the army who fought in Burma; and someone who served on the Home Front as a vet. We love hearing these stories and it is really bringing our History topic to life.
