The week started with a great Science exploration of models of the solar system. We made models with ourselves, with fruit and then with playdough and balloons. For each model, we considered its strengths and weaknesses including concepts such as relative size and relative distance. In Maths we have been multiplying and dividing fractions, which the children have taken to very well. In English we have continued working towards our discussion of whether we would like to visit Mars, including trying to make the most of each point we are making by expanding it into several sentences to create cohesive paragraphs. Our wider curriculum learning is also continuing apace. This week we have (among other things) completed our mapping of major mountain ranges and peaks in Geography; created ‘waves’ using texture in Music; and learned about the Trimurti of Hinduism in RE. Thank you to the parents who are recording their reading with their children on the Homework grid and also to those supporting their children in improving their timestables recall; it is of enormous benefit. Have a lovely weekend.
