The children in Year 6 continue to work hard to fine tune their skills ahead of SATs but they are also enjoying their learning in other areas. A highlight of the week has been the visit from the Oxfordshire Museums Service, bringing us a workshop on the Romans. We learnt about the equipment of a Roman soldier and some aspects of being the army. We also learned about the everyday clothing of Roman citizens and handled Roman artefacts found in Oxfordshire. On Tuesday we started our new Science topic of Evolution and Inheritance, learning why fossils were so important in helping scientists understand the world. We were very lucky to be able to borrow some fossils from Ms Hutchins and Mrs Bungay.
