This week, Owl Class have been thoughtfully reflecting on Christian beliefs about the Christmas story and whether it is understood as historically true. We compared the accounts of Matthew and Luke, noticing some significant differences between them. After learning about the perspectives of Christians from different denominations, we came to understand that beliefs and interpretations can vary, and that these differences can be held respectfully and without conflict.
In English, we have begun our biography writing, starting with an introduction to the life of Joseph Coelho—an extraordinary poet who grew up in a tower block in London and went on to become the Children’s Poet Laureate. The children have been inspired by his journey and achievements.
With both excitement and a hint of sadness, we finished our excellent class novel, The Final Year. We enjoyed it so much that many of us have already chosen to read it again! Fortunately, Mrs Blackmore had another wonderful book ready for us, and October, October is now well underway.
