Owl Class News – 4.9.26

What an amazing start to the year in Owls Class!

It has been so lovely catching up with everyone, hearing all about the wonderful summers you have had, and welcoming the children back into school. I have been so impressed with how enthusiastically everyone has returned and how keen they have been to get stuck into their learning.

It was certainly a difficult job choosing our first certificates for Celebration Assembly this week, as every single child has been trying so hard and making such a fantastic start. You should all be incredibly proud of yourselves!

We have already been very busy with our new topic, getting creative and starting to make some wonderful things to brighten up our classroom displays. We have also begun exploring our new class story, Rose Blanche, an incredibly powerful and emotive book which has already given us lots to think about and discuss.

In English, we have started exploring Rose Blanche and have been responding to its powerful themes and ideas.

In Maths, we have got straight into our learning, beginning our work on Roman numerals and place value.

Today we also had our very first Mandarin session. It was lovely to see everyone getting involved and having a go.

What a fantastic few days it has been! I am so proud of the children and the wonderful attitude they have brought back with them. I can’t wait to see what we achieve together in our first full week next week.

Just a little reminder for next week: swimming will begin on Thursday. Our PE days are Tuesdays and Thursdays, so please make sure children come prepared for PE on both days.
