Owl Class News 5.6.26

This week, our Year 6 pupils who will be moving on to Bartholomew School had the opportunity to meet Miss Elder, the Head of Year 7, for a question-and-answer session. This was a fantastic opportunity to ask any questions about secondary school life, helping to ease any worries and build confidence for the exciting journey ahead. The session not only helped to calm nerves but also enhanced our excitement about the next stage of our education.

In Geography, we have been exploring Ordnance Survey maps, learning how to identify and interpret contour lines to understand the shape and height of the land. To deepen our understanding, we took part in a practical activity where we created our own structures and viewed them from a bird’s-eye perspective. This hands-on experience helped us visualise how physical features are represented on maps and strengthened our understanding of how contour lines show changes in elevation. We thoroughly enjoyed applying our learning in such a practical and engaging way.

It has been another busy and productive week of learning, with pupils continuing to show enthusiasm, curiosity, and a positive attitude in all that they do.
