Owls Class News 01.09.25

Dear Parents and Pupils,

Welcome back to school and to Upper Key Stage 2 Owl Class! We are delighted to begin a brand-new school year together, full of exciting opportunities for learning, discovery, and growth.

This year, Mrs Blackmore will be teaching the class on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, and Mrs Tingley will be teaching every Thursday. Along with our wonderful teaching assistants, Mrs Morton and Mrs Bungay, we are looking forward to working together to support each child in reaching their full potential.

We have an exciting year of learning ahead! Pupils will be starting Mandarin lessons on alternating Monday and Friday afternoons, and swimming will take place every Thursday, starting on Thursday 4th September. On swimming days, children should come to school wearing their PE kit for the day.

We are also eager to hear the children’s thoughts and reflections on their summer reading novel, Wonder. Daily reading will continue to be an important part of our class routine, and children will bring a book home each day to enjoy and share at home.

Finally, please remember to send in a pair of wellies—we’ll be making the most of our outdoor learning opportunities, whatever the weather!

We are so looking forward to the year ahead and to seeing all of our Owls grow, learn, and shine together.

With warm regards,
The Owl Class Team
