Squirrel Class News 28.6.24

We have been working really hard in our assessments this week, I have been so proud of the progress everyone has made in their reading and maths! A big well done to everyone!

We haven’t only been doing assessments, we have also been busy in English and our foundation subjects:

In English, we sequenced and created story maps for our current class text ‘Grandma Bird’ by Benji Davies. We will start re-writing the story next week from the perspective of Grandma.

We also had a special bird visitor last Friday afternoon. Mrs Morton bought in her rescue duckling ‘Frank’ and the children impressed her with their knowledge of what you should and shouldn’t feed birds.

In Science we have been continuing our learning on habitats, we focused on deserts as a habitat this week.

In PSHE we have been learning all of the scientific names for all of our body parts.

In RE we have been looking at the Ten Commandments and why Moses was chosen to lead the Israelites out of Egypt.

In Geography I was very impressed with their understanding and knowledge of what a port is – we even had a virtual visit to Southampton port!

Hope you all have a great weekend.
