Squirrels Class News 03.11.2023

What a fantastic first week back we have had! I hope you all had a great (and well deserved) break.

We started off our first day creating adventures after adventures using the magic of a cardboard box! They became ice cream vans, ferraris, pizza delivery bikes, boats, and much much more. We are looking at our new class text ‘On Sudden Hill’ which tells the story of two best friends who take their cardboard boxes up to a hill every day, and have big big imaginations – just like us.

In Maths we have started looking at shape, looking at 2D shapes and creating block pattern images from these. I have been very impressed with their knowledge!

In Science we have started our new topic, all about animals (including humans). We went on a senses exploration – using our eyes to view kaleidoscope images, using our noses to sniff spices, our hands to touch different sensations, our ears to hear very loud noises, and our tongues to taste tangy lemons!

Finally we have started looking at our nativity play and begun listening to and singing the songs that we will be learning over the next six weeks. Learning these songs will form most of the children’s homework for the next term, so I hope you don’t get sick of them!

Have a lovely weekend.
