Just to start by saying welcome back and happy New Year! I hope you all had a fantastic Christmas and break these past couple of weeks!
It has been a joy to see all of the enthusiasm and positive energy radiating from Squirrels class this week. I have been so impressed with their eagerness to learn!
This term, we have started an exciting new topic – Africa. We have been captivated by the rich culture and diverse landscapes of this fascinating continent. In English, we’ve explored our creativity through writing poems about life in Kenya, from the weather to all of the exciting wildlife.
In maths, our focus this week has been on addition and equations, with students actively engaging in practical and interactive learning experiences. Their growing confidence with numbers is amazing to see!
In RE, we have started our new learning all about the customs and traditions of Jewish people, in particular, the significance of Shabbat. The children have been thinking about their favorite days of the week, and what makes them special to them.
Our Computing sessions have been both educational and enjoyable – the children absolutely loved exploring and investigating our Beebots!
In Science, we have been investigating plants – with Mrs McKay they went on a plant hunt! We wondered why we didn’t find as many plants as anticipated – linking back to our question of what plants need to grow.
I’m so happy with the positive atmosphere in our classroom, and I am confident that this term will be just as amazing as the last!
Can I ask that homework books are returned to ensure that new homework webs can go home. Homework will be collected in every Tuesday and house points awarded for effort.

Thank you, and have a great weekend!
