Squirrels Class News 19.07.24

Wow, I really cannot believe I am writing our final newsletter of Year 1 – and the last time it will be Squirrels Class News!

We have had such an exciting final week, with our DT day on Monday, we built some fantastic ferris wheels using our knowledge of wheels and axes.

On Tuesday we had an exciting Olympics day with Mrs Bungay and Mrs Morton giving us some history lessons about the origins of the Olympics – we then designed our very own Olympic kit and medals.

On Wednesday we had a whole morning of Computing and learnt all about Copyright and learnt how to save work as our own – so nobody can copy it! We then had our exciting Cross-country event, everyone was so speedy.

On Thursday we had our MFL day, with our language for this term being Spanish, with a focus on the city of Valencia. We learnt lots of facts and created an amazing leaflet all about Valencia. We also counted to 5 in Spanish and learnt some colours also!

Finally, we’ve finished our jam-packed week with our Sports Day! What a fantastic event, everyone should be sooo proud of themselves – as always I am very proud of everyone!

I’d like to finish by saying a massive thank you to everyone for all their support over the year, be that reading at home, completing our home learning tasks and making me feel very welcome here at Stanton. We have had a great year and I am so looking forward to joining our class as Hedgehogs next year as they begin their Year 2 journey.

Have a great weekend and see you for our final day and a half!! We did it!
