Year 6 Visit to Stanton Harcourt Manor

On Friday 14th June, Year 6 visited the chapel and the old kitchen at The Manor. The children went in the room above the chapel where Alexander Pope translated Homer’s Iliad in 1717/18 . They sketched the interior of the old kitchen – the entire room is basically a chimney at 21 metres high! We were very grateful to be invited to The Manor and to learn more about our local history.
